I do not recall where I got all this from but I used to keep copies of every SY99 I found on the net since before I acquired my SY99. Only recently I was able to use some of the files above and I must say that the SY99 kicks butt, even today. I was too bored to swap disks in the past, however with the USB emulator everything is so simple.

I have a bunch of SY99/SY77/DX7 files on my computer from many various sources, too numerous to list them here. Finally went through the disks I got for my SY99, I have some Yamaha SY99 disks that I'm not sure about copyright, SD9901 European dance, SD9902 Analog Synth, SD9904 Film Composer. Yamaha VD77W Special Selection From TG77, TX16W disks LM040 Acoustic Guitar, LM042 Strings, Marimba, Choir, Orchestra, Flute, Synth, Brass, LM043 Strings. I also have 48 Sound Source Unlimited PCM disks covering a wide range of sounds and as far as I can tell copyright still exists so I cannot distribute them. Same goes for 5 SSU Voice Bank disks, Pop/Rock/R&B, Rock Pop & Roll, Super R&B, Vector Emulations, Radical Film Textures. Please don't ask me to distribute the copyrighted disks, it is illegal, it's not right, and I refuse to do so.

Hi artico78,

sorry mate, but NO facebook over here... and I don't have the intention to join there. I'll stay tuned to this forum (and others) where the folks aren't kidding around that much

Like others around here, I am not (and have no intention to ever be) on Facebook or other social network. My life is not that important to advertise it to others but my privacy is and I don't want anyone to know anything about me. Past employers were not able to find any information about me and that's how I like it. I belong to some Yahoo groups that cover the SY-series and some of my other instruments and hobbies.

I do appreciate the effort to have such information about the SY99 online though. For some people Facebook is important. Everyone is different and that's how it should be. If all of us were the same this planet would not be fun at all.

For those that don't like to deal with Facebook I have a few links to share. The information posted there may or may not be in the public domain. I have no clue what Yamaha may have put on the public domain in the past. My "official Yamaha" links have died long ago. Apparently they thought that nobody would care about synthesizers made 20 years ago. Smart people indeed...

Some working but most are not working, for reference only:

web.archive.org/web/20000312061641/http://www.kki.net.pl/sy99/software.html

I may have some other stuff around; if I find anything useful I'll post it here. I tried to make the links above click-able but the system does not allow that. The admins allow only 3 click-able links. So you have to copy and paste. I could start bitching about this but anyway...

This is all I get in return when using the web.archieve.org links:

Hrm.
Wayback Machine doesn't have that page archived.
Want to search for all archived pages under ftp://ftp.t0.or.at/pub/sound/tx16w/samp ... aha/PIANO/ ?

No matter what file I choose... always a message like the one stated above ! :(

That's why I wrote that most of the links over there do not work. The only one that partially works is this:

http://web.archive.org/web/200006121442 ... /sy77.html

I downloaded about 15 "zip" files with data from that one and one day I'll check them out. Sometimes you have to click twice on a link. The first time you get the message that they have no archived copy of that page and the second one you get the zip file. Perhaps the servers are busy, who knows.
