Value of a Yamaha SG 45 with the fancy trim?

Unread post by Asmikace » Sun Feb 12, 2017 3:10 am

Hello everybody, I am eying a Yamaha SG 45 with the inlays and wood finished pickguard. The seller wants a bit too much money but I am not sure what would the value be for such a guitar or what asking price I should offer. Any suggestions? Here is a picture of the model I am talking about.

Hard to say they don't come up for sale very often but rarity doesn't always equal value. In the past two or three years I have sales recorded on Ebya for other SGs of similar age (and rarity?) There have been two SG 30 sales at £360 and £500 and an SG 35 at £322 maybe that gives some idea. How much is the seller asking? Have a look at my website for prices, look at the guitar information section.

The seller wants $1000 shipped but its too pricey for me imo but I wanted to get an idea for it.

reverb 1200$ : https://reverb.com/item/2672669-yamaha- ... ural-gloss

reverb 750$ : https://reverb.com/item/4027131-rare-19 ... maha-sg-45

The price surprised me, a bit too expensive for my liking.

Dang you found the two that I am looking at. I might get the $750 one if that is a better value as I could work for a better deal.

The 750$ guitar is sold, did you get it ??

The Fancy SG-45 with the bindings, I believe, is an SG-85: https://reverb.com/item/2672669-yamaha- ... ural-gloss
