RM-Pro tremolo question

Unread post by Tortex_CRO » Mon Jan 09, 2017 11:33 am

Hi. I have this Yamaha RM-Pro tremolo on my Yamaha RGX612A, so does anybody know purpose of this part?

And I need to buy a new tremolo arm because this one easy turns out. I'm not sure is this original arm. It looks like this... flat arm 5,5 mm. So, if somebody have or know what dimension of original arm is, it will be very helpful

 Looks like some kind of adjustment knob, possibly locking or limiting bridge movement :?:

 Tremolo arm available here: http://www.fretsonthenet.com/yamaha%20t ... 20bars.htm

According to manual, this knob gets adjusted last after string change setup. Run down till snug and this prevents other strings from going out of tune if a string breaks. I can't verify this keeps others in tune, but it does appear it limits how far springs can pull on remaining strings.
Nice guitar by the way!!

28$ + shipping is only little bit expensive. I pay this arm 40$, whole guitar was 400$... :/:

Yeah, Dave ain't cheap, but it's often faster to order from him, compared to searching high and low on the web.

Glad you're rocking again.

I just picked one of these up myself in pearl white. In not so great shape though for $55.00 as a project. Probably going to have to go to Frets on the Net to get some parts myself. Although, I am missing a bridge string lock so I'm going to have a set made in brass.

Great find for you! How do you like it so far?

I picked up a Yamaha RGX 612A for a local pawn shop. Not in the best shape. Missing some parts but I'm going to fix it up and probably be out for under 200 total investment. I'll post some picks when I have them.

The RGX-612A is definitely a nice guitar, and at a great price. Please do post pictures of the transformation.
