notice both of the basses in those videos have the bridge pickup flipped around.

all the catalog photos i've seen of SA70s show the bridge pickup's pole pieces closer to the bridge. i wonder if they get flipped around in maintenance or on purpose or if some years were installed at the factory that way. it's possible they get installed backwards because of the wiring length.

don't the f holes on the red one look painted on?

I think that only the lower f-hole on the red bass is covered by some kind of cloth/membrane material,
possibly to keep dirt out, and maybe to reduce feedback. I doubt it's painted.

Peter

sa20, 30, 50, 70, etc have plastic baffles in the f holes to reduce feedback but that red bass' f hole looks one dimensional. probably just the lighting. no baffles in that one. https://reverb.com/item/117839-yamaha-s ... 3-wine-red

Baffles, YEAH, that's the word I was looking for.

The reverb add has the same youtube clip, so it must be the same bass.
Maybe the lighting makes the lower f-hole look black and one dimensional.

Peter

The YouTube description says the bass "was" for sale and links to that reverb listing and eBay
